Issued by the Aden National Project on the developments of the situation in the capital, Aden
The Aden National Project, based on its deep affiliation with this great city, and being an integral part of its social and humanitarian fabric, confirms that it is following with great concern and sincere interest the painful developments in the capital Aden, in light of the continuous service deterioration, foremost of which is the electricity crisis, and the consequent harsh and accumulated suffering that has burdened people and strained the details of their daily lives, until it affects the simplest of their rights to a decent life. As we speak today, we are speaking from the heart of Aden, and with Aden, and for the sake of Aden, because we do not stand outside its pain, but we live it as our people live it in Aden, and we see in their patience and steadfastness a form of dignity of this ancient city that has known nothing but pride, and deserves only fairness, the distress and suffering that our people live in Aden is no longer tolerable, and their demands for improved services and decent living are just and legitimate demands that cannot be ignored or postponed. In the same context, we send the following invitations and messages:
First: We expressly call on the government, under the leadership of His Excellency Prime Minister Dr. Shaie Al-Zindani, and His Excellency the Minister of Electricity Eng. Adnan Al-Kef, to speed up the implementation of the urgent rescue plan to address the service situation, foremost of which is electricity, and to block the way for anyone who lurks in this suffering, or seeks to divert the course of human rights claims and exploit them politically at the expense of the people and their pain. Second: We call on His Excellency the Minister of State, Governor of the Capital Aden, Mr. Abdul Rahman Sheikh, to be honest with the Aden people about the reality of the situation, or take full responsibility, and move to a practical stage based on the innovation of real treatments and solutions from the resources and revenues of Aden . Dealing with the capital on the basis of its specificity as the capital of the country, and we affirm that all the Adeni people stand behind these reform steps, and support them, as a necessary path to save Aden from collapse and restore a minimum of stability and service. In the same context, we emphasize that the capital, Aden, needs a rational administration that keeps pace with the magnitude of the challenges, and opens the doors of serious reform in the directorates and executive offices, especially the service ones, through the use of young national cadres and competencies from the people of Aden, who bear its concerns and know their details, and contribute sincerely to developing solutions, improving services, and lifting this catastrophic reality. Third: We send a message to the security forces in the capital Aden, the leadership and individuals, that the responsibility placed on you is great, and the conditions in our city are very complex, and we realize the size of the pressures you face to maintain security and stability and prevent chaos, but we remind you that the protesters are your brothers and family, and they did not emerge in vain or in vain, but rather brought out by pain, oppression and poor services, a reality whose effects affect every house in Aden, and therefore, we invite you to show With wisdom, self-control and humane treatment, and moving away from the use of excessive force, this only generates more congestion, and serves only those who want to ignite sedition in a city that has been exhausted by fatigue and deserves security, not escalation, and compassion, not more pain. At the same time, we emphasize that peaceful and civilized expression is the truest and most responsible way to deliver the voice and protect the cause from distortion or exploitation. Peaceful protest is a guaranteed right as long as it is disciplined and responsible, away from cutting roads, burning tires or any practices that increase the suffering of people and affect patients, paramedics, students, workers and other groups that have been exhausted by this difficult reality. Fourth: We call on our people in Aden and its youth to adhere to the peaceful and civilized approach in expressing their just demands, and to preserve the image of the city and its right to responsible protest. We also call on them to be vigilant against any attempts to drag their legitimate movements into chaos, sabotage, or tampering. Aden deserves only to have its voice heard clearly, and to preserve its dignity with the awareness of its people and their peaceful will. In conclusion: Aden today needs the voice of reason, a response worthy of the patience of its people, their steadfastness and sacrifices, and a real will that puts the suffering of people at the forefront of priorities, and treats their demands as deserving rights that no one has, and we in the Aden National Project affirm our full support for our people in Aden, and our adherence to the option of peace, and our rejection of all forms of chaos, violence and harm to the city and its people, because we are of them and theirs, and with them in all that guarantees their dignity and rights and their future. May God protect Eden and her people, and inject the blood of her sons. Issued by: Dialogue and Communication Team – Aden National Project
